WSA unveils new mobile apps at Nokia forum

Wireless Services Asia Inc. (WSA) will showcase new mobile applications at the Nokia Developer Conference 2002 in Singapore.

The developer conference is part of Nokia Connection 2002, organized by the telecom giant for senior business leaders in the telecommunications and IT industries and the regional media.

WSA, identified by Nokia as "a developer of compelling Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) applications," joins a select group of wireless application service providers participating in the three-day event.

It will demonstrate its new capabilities such as Java games, polyphonic ringtones and MMS services such as color screensavers, mobile maps, comics and postcards.

"We take great pride in this invitation to what is considered one of the most important events in the industry. It is a testament to WSA’s leadership in mobile services," said Rainer Leinonen, WSA’s chief operating officer.

With the theme "Life Goes Mobile," Nokia Connection 2002 will focus on the industry’s growth, driven by mobile services and applications.

WSA seeks to empower society by harnessing the full potential of mobile communications combined with innovative mobile value-added services. The company possesses a strong and diverse GSM knowledge complemented with an understanding and appreciation of IT technologies and content creation.

WSA acts as an application and content developer for GSM operators in the Philippines and in other parts of the world. It has business offices in Manila, Singapore and Helsinki, and services in 10 countries.
