Alcatel ties up with ITU

PARIS – Alcatel and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the development of regional Centers of Excellence in developing countries.

The agreement aims to jointly develop and implement ICT training courses in network and service solutions, strategic business management and regulation policy.

The ITU Centers of Excellence initiative is an innovative approach to assist regional and local decision-makers in establishing the regulatory and policy environment, and in obtaining the technical and business management expertise conducive to private sector investment in telecommunications infrastructure.
