Veritas Technologies, the global leader in enterprise data protection and software-defined storage, recently gathered its regional customers along with leaders and experts in technology at the Veritas Vision Executive Forum at The Mulia in Bali, Indonesia to talk about the IT challenges that plague organizations and enterprises today.
The 2019 edition of the forum was among the series of 20 events around the globe that is aimed to present the modern practices and technologies in the realm of data management.
One of the problems that enterprises face today is digital disruption, which forces them to rethink their IT consumption and services. Aside from that, the IoT and 5G are leading towards a more decentralized IT infrastructure while data management is now transcending beyond your typical data backup on cloud or premises.
As data across the globe continue to proliferate at a phenomenal rate, the IDC projected that data is set to grow to 175 zettabytes by 2025. With the continued growth of data amid the threats of cybercrime and the compliance with several data regulations, businesses are managing their data that is spread across the cloud, core data centers, or even at the edge.
The current infrastructure complexity is affecting the IT’s ability to meet the demands of the businesses today.
During the forum,  Veritas’ Chris Lin, senior vice president, Sales, Asia Pacific & Japan, talked about abstracting IT complexity and how Veritas’ Enterprise Data Services Platform could provide businesses with availability, protection, and insights on cost and compliance optimization across data and infrastructure.
For his part, John Abel, SVP and chief information officer of Veritas, shared his journey to becoming a CIO while also tackilng the need to keep up with the fast-paced digital age, the importance of data in the digital business, and the challenges that come with ransomware.
The forum also conducted an executive panel discussion on new ways to manage data complexity with Ravi Rajendran, Veritas vice president and managing director of Asia South Region, Deepak Mohan, executive vice president, Data Protection Product of Veritas Technologies, and customers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
According to Rajendran, the Veritas Vision Executive Forum seeks to help the enterprises clear the complexity in managing various data platforms.
“It is the ultimate goal of Veritas Vision Executive Forum to empower customers to abstract the IT complexity across physical, virtual or cloud platforms so they can focus on their desired business outcomes. Today, customers simply need applications to be available, data to be always protected and recoverable, and insights to achieve optimization and regulatory compliance,” Rajendran said.
For the 14th consecutive time, Veritas Technologies became the market leader in Gartner’s 2019 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions. More than 50,000 businesses and enterprises, including 99% of the Fortune 100, depend on the data global leader in terms of abstracting IT complexity and simplifying data management.
Its Veritas Enterprise Data Services Platforms automates the protection and orchestrates the recovery of data everywhere it lives, ensures 24/7 availability of business-critical applications, and provides enterprises with the insights they need to comply with evolving data regulations.
