More from IFA 2015

Sphero BB-8

MANILA, Philippines - If you’re a Star Wars fan, keep reading. In the latest trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a new droid makes an appearance. We’re not quite sure what role BB-8 will eventually play, but even before the movie hits theaters, you can already take home a mini-version of him. The folks at Sphere have partnered with Disney to bring this new Star Wars character to life. At IFA 2015, we spent an afternoon with this $140 robotic pet (for the full video visit gadgetmatch.net/ifa2015). You can have him roam your room using your iOS or Android device as a remote control. Or you can set him on Patrol mode and have him go about doing his business. The toy robot will last about an hour on battery life, and takes about three hours to charge using the bundled conductive charging dock. (Buy online via GoSphero.com)

Lenovo P1/S1

Lenovo announced several new phones at IFA 2015, but the new P1 and S1 smartphones are our favorites. The P1 is all about power, the smartphone comes with a 5000mAh battery that doubles as a power bank, so you can use it to charge another device, provided you have the right cable. It also has a dedicated switch for going into power-saving mode to extend the phone’s life further. The S1 on the other hand is made for selfies,  the phone comes with dual front-facing cameras. Yep, two cameras, one 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras. The second camera measures depth information to give your selfies that nice blurred background effect. You can also go and refocus a shot after the photo has been taken.

Polaroid Snap

Polaroid hopes to bring back its glory days by introducing a new digital camera that prints photos on the fly. What’s interesting about the Snap is that it doesn’t use ink to print. Instead, heat is used to activate a special kind of paper embedded with colored crystals. The Snap is a 10-megapixel camera, and prints 2x3 photos in under a minute.
