MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom on Wednesday afternoon announced taht its service in areas directly hit by Typhoon "Glenda" were disrupted.
The telco said services were disrupted in Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Marinduque, Masbate, Sorsogon and Quezon.
"Our on-ground technical team are continuously providing reports and doing site assessments for immediate service recovery," said Yoly Crisanto, corporate communications head of Globe.
Crisanto, meanwhile, said that no major Globe infrastructure were damaged by the typhoon.
The Globe official said that their cellsites are equipptd with alternate power sources such as batteries and gensets in ancitipation of prolonged loss of power supply.
It said it is already preparing for the mobilization of "libreng tawag" services to areas were Globe will not be able to immediately restore its services.
