TeleDevelopment turns 10

MANILA, Philippines - The future shines bright for TeleDevelopment Services Inc. (TDS) in the Philippines. The company that has helped establish and support the growth of many of the Philippines’ call center and business process outsourcing (BPO) giants such as Convergys, Stream Global, Teleperformance, ADP, Convey, Nations Health and Telus is now 10 years old.

After years of dedicated service to the growing BPO industry in the country, TDS Philippines celebrated its 10th anniversary with its partners, clients and employees through an affair to remember.

To commemorate the significant milestone, the Broadway-inspired anniversary gala dubbed “10 Years and Beyond: Our Future Shines Bright” was held last March 21 at Fairmont, Makati.

Considered a red carpet event, the anniversary celebration highlighted achievements throughout the decade of TDS’ fruitful journey in the BPO sphere and as importantly shared the direction for the next 10 years. Clients and other special guests attended the event in Broadway-inspired formal attire.

TDS Philippines has played crucial roles in assisting high-profile BPO and call center companies such as Teleperformance, Accenture, Automatic Data Processing, Transcom, Convey Health Solutions, and Hinduja Global Solutions and countless others in developing successful operations in the Philippines.

TDS Philippines’ journey started in 2004 when TDS president and CEO Jon Kaplan decided to set up a Philippine presence in Ortigas Center, Pasig City after having provided BPO services to the country since 1999.

Starting with only eight pioneer employees, TDS Philippines persevered and made it its mission to provide excellent service to the BPO industry, setting out to find innovative solutions to uplift the sector through signature training programs, specialized staffing, management recruitment, automated English skills assessment tools, managed solutions, consulting, and more.

To this day, Kaplan believes that people are an organization’s finest resource. “As we continue to grow, we want to stay close to our mission which is to enable our clients to succeed at every stage of their lifecycle through innovative human capital and business management solutions,” he says.

TDS Philippines has since grown tenfold and helped engage more than 25,000 agents and frontline managers for various Philippine outsourcing and BPO companies.

The company is growing and adding more services to its repertoire, such as Versant Writing Test, Medical Coding Training and Management Certification programs, operation audits, enhanced payroll processing services, organizational development programs and powered-up public training catalogue — all to enrich, equip and empower both corporate and industry growth.

In conjunction with TDS’ 10th anniversary comes the announcement of a new company structure and branding. The new parent company is TDS Global Holdings, which includes TDS Global Solutions, TeleDevelopment Philippines and BPO CareerHub. TDS now articulates a greater focus on both voice and non-voice business process management as well as an expanded global reach.
