Global computing technology at Acer-Microsoft 2013 Roadshow

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Multinational IT brand Acer and the world’s biggest software brand Microsoft recently embarked on the Acer-Microsoft 2013 Roadshow to showcase Acer’s impressive products that run on Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system.

The spirit of “work” and “play” took center stage during the successful roadshow held in popular schools and offices. There, both students and professionals discovered the benefits of using Windows 8-based Acer personal computers and enjoyed the “touch” experience offered by the tandem of the two titanic brands.

Featuring learning activities that focused on creating a playful and fun mood while using a PC, roadshow guests had a grand time in tinkering with the Windows 8-based computers, particularly the fun games in the touch-screen PCs.

There were also one-on-one tutorial sessions where participants were taught how to maximize and enjoy the full features of the products.

Aside from the up-close interaction with the exciting PCs and the learning sessions, participants took turns as they all playfully posed at the Acer-Microsoft Windows 8 Photo Wall for free photo souvenirs together with classmates and friends.

Guests also participated in games that further electrified the crowd like the “Tweet and Share Me, Baby,” where those who posted their experiences in using Windows 8 via Twitter and Facebook got the chance to win cool prizes courtesy of Acer and Microsoft.

Of course, other fun games saw a close interaction between students and their professors that all the more made the roadshow a rip-roaring success.

First stop for the Acer-Microsoft Roadshow was at the Miriam College in Quezon City during the freshmen orientation, with more than 900 new students. Next was at the Food Court located at the third floor of the PhilamLife Tower in Makati City with 1,000 professionals and executives present.

Just a few days later, it was the turn of regular diners at the RCBC Tower along Ayala Avenue in Makati City to see the Acer-Microsoft Windows 8 roadshow, where more than 2,000 professionals packed the food court.

Finally, the roadshow’s last two legs were held at the Adamson University where 1,000 students gathered, and at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila with more than 3,000 students.

Judging by the number of attendees, the Acer-Microsoft 2013 Roadshow was indeed a spectacular success, and the two brands promised to bring the event to more venues in the near future.
