DOTC to bid out P120-M contract for computers for local gov’ts
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is looking for a proponent of its P120-million local government unit (LGU) social welfare project that would include a customer relations management system component.
The DOTC said the project involves the acquisition of 1,350 units of branded desktop computers as well as the training of users.
The project also contains a provision for the development of a social welfare project with a customer relations management website.
The agency added that the winning bidder would have to put up a cloud computing hosting-based server that would serve as actual storage of the website and system wherein each LGU would be entitled to up to 500 gigabytes (GB) of storage.
Funds for the project would be sourced from the government’s General Appropriations Act 2012 Fund.
According to the DOTC, the prospective bidders should have completed at least one contract involving the delivery and supply of any information technology equipment or application equivalent to 50 percent of the approved budget for the contract.
The agency added that the bidding is restricted to Filipino citizens, proprietors, partnerships, and organizations with at least 60 percent interest belonging to Filipinos.
As of September 2012, there were 80 provinces, 35 highly urbanized cities, five independent component cities, one independent city, and one independent municipality.
