Samsung unveils latest LFD monitors

ME Series large format displays can be managed using Samsung’s own digital signage software called Magic Info.

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO) recently launched its brand new line-up of LFD (large formal display) monitors and projectors targeting business customers who can use these at their storefronts or public venues for a more impactful digital signage to interact with their customers.

To demonstrate how the new LFD products can be used for retail, Samsung strategically installed several units at different sections of Rustan’s Department Store in Makati City. Guests were shown how the LFDs can be used as a store directory, as an interactive restaurant’s menu, as a virtual catalogue of products, and as an information board to show the store’s latest offerings and activities.

The new LFD monitors are available in 32-inch to 46-inch and 55-inch models. The UD Series, in particular, features an ultra thin and narrow bezel at 5.2 mm to 5.7 mm, making it ideal for in-store video walls.

Eric Sulit, SEPCO Business Unit director said, “We have integrated the touch-screen display technology into our new LFD monitors, creating an extremely interactive experience that is so simple and easy to use. Updating files and databases for in-store displays has also been made effortless as these cutting-edge products play videos, music, and images without the need for a computer, as access to information is made via USB.”

The LFDs can be managed using Samsung’s own digital signage software called Magic Info. A 40-inch Samsung LFD (ME Series), with an entry-level price of P95,000 comes with a Magic Info Lite version, while a 32-inch touch-screen model with a starting price of P130,000 comes with the full version, Magic Info Premium.

“These products also use the ground-breaking Samsung LED backlight technology, making for superb image brightness, display, and quality without using too much energy. Extremely light in terms of weight, they are also easy to manage and install whenever and wherever they are needed,” said Mark Labit, product manager for SEPCO LFDs.

Labit also said that aside from helping elevate a store’s image, LFDs are effective in helping shop owners deliver more information or content to their customers instantaneously.

He added that the LFDs have long hours of operation, unlike traditional displays. Ideal users of LFDs aside from malls and retail outlets are hotels for their lobbies, airports and other transport terminals, stadiums, banks, and government offices that need to interact with the public all the time.

Current users of Samsung digital signage products include National Bookstore, SM Cinemas and Malls, PowerPlant Mall and Cinemas, Manila Hotel, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, and Chinabank, among others.

The new Samsung LFD monitors and projectors are now available in all authorized Samsung dealers nationwide.
