Lean Sigma conference slated

-

MANILA, Philippines - Foreign and local experts in today’s most powerful business improvement methodologies will share their proven know-how with the members of the country’s corporate and entrepreneurial community, including government and non-government organizations.

Among those experts are Six Sigma master black belt Dr. Umit Ozen of Infoman Consultancy firm in Turkey and consulting black belt Brian Hachez of the Workflow Excellence Group of Banco de Oro.

Both will be keynote speakers at the 2011 Lean Six Sigma Conference slated at the Hotel InterContinental in Makati City on March 10-11.

Ozen will speak on the “Positive effects of Lean Sigma on company results, business process and employees,” while Hachez will present a case study on “Business excellence in the service industry.”

Lean Six Sigma, also known as Lean Sigma, is a combination of two business management strategies - Lean Manufacturing that eliminates wastes in the production process, and Six Sigma which introduces steps to problem solving and enhance quality.

Essentially, Lean Manufacturing is about efficiency and cost, and Sigma about effectiveness and value.

Thus, Lean and Six Sigma together with Business Process Management constitute the core disciplines in Continuous Process Improvement, which can help corporate and institutional managers and executives attain the so-called Operational Excellence that transforms business results into improved bottom lines.

“New ideas and best practices in this regard will be discussed by experts and practitioners during the conference, which is open to business owners and entrepreneurs, general managers, managing directors, and senior, middle and junior managers of all the various industry sectors such as telecom, health care, financial/banking, business process outsourcing, logistics, transport, export/import, manufacturing, government, non-government organizations, small and medium enterprises and other organizations,” said vice president Norelyn Babiera of event manager Fiera de Manila Inc. (FMI).

A 20 percent discount is available to students and government participants, and 10 percent discount to NGOs, trade associations and chambers of commerce, Babiera said.

The registration fees include two days of attendance, snacks, lunch and conference kit.

For more information, call the FMI at 632-896-0639 or 896-0637, e-mail at [email protected]or visit www.fmi.com.ph.
