Alienware M11x gaming laptop gets Intel Core i7

- Alma Buelva -

MANILA, Philippines - Serious PC gamers can now power up with new Intel Core i7 processors and Nvidia Optimus technology as Dell makes these options available in its powerful 11-inch gaming laptop, the Alienware M11x.

Coinciding with the opening of Digital Alley at the Greenbelt 3 in Makati City last week, Dell announced that it has fitted the Alienware M11x with new Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processor options combined with the latest Nvidia Optimus technology to provide gamers with an ultimate, high-definition mobile gaming experience.

The Intel Core i5 and Core i7 used have Turbo Boost and are over-clockable beyond the standard specification to meet the high levels of computing performance that today’s gaming software demands.

“The Alienware M11x is the perfect go-anywhere laptop for people who want to play today’s most popular and demanding games in high definition. With the new Core i7 processor and high-performance discrete graphics that automatically kick in when needed, gamers get a stunning visual experience and fast-action play wherever they are without sacrificing longer battery life for less intensive activities,” said Deepak Wagh, Dell consumer sales general manager for the Asia-Pacific.

Dell officials laud the Alienware M11x as the world’s best 11-inch gaming laptop which, they added, just got better with the addition of the powerful Intel premium processors and Nvidia products.

The Nvidia GeForce GT 335M provides 1GB of discrete, fast HD graphics performance for more realistic gaming environments and virtual worlds playing at high 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Built-in Nvidia PhysX technology propels hyper-realistic game play on the M11x that shows every dynamic cause-and-effect detail.

The Nvidia Optimus technology switches seamlessly and transparently from the integrated Intel HD Graphics Media Accelerator to GE Force GT 335M discrete graphics when extra performance is demanded by visually intensive applications. Switching to integrated graphics during less visually demanding applications, like word processing or e-mail exchange, extends the machine’s battery life.

The Alienware M11x, available in stealth black or lunar shadow colors, weighs 4.4 lbs., has a built-in AlienFX illuminated keyboard and laser-engraved user nameplate, among others. It ships with a choice of 64-bit Windows 7 operating systems installed.

With an Intel Core i7, this small but mean machine costs P77,999.
