US tech support firm opens RP hub

-

MANILA, Philippines – Cybernet-SlashSupport (CSS), a leading technology operations management organization based in San Jose, California, is bullish about the Philippines’ business process outsourcing (BPO) industry as it begins operations from McKinley Hills in Taguig City.

Pouring in an initial capital of $15 million with 25-percent targeted income for this year alone, CSS established its fourth center globally in the Philippines after its headquarters in Utah in the United States, India, and Poland.

The Philippine facility is targeted to become CSS’ second biggest delivery center after India.

“Global footprint is important to us. And when it comes to BPO, you cannot dismiss the importance of the Philippines. We are here to grow and we are here to stay,” said Nick Sharma, chief executive officer of CSS.

CSS manages technology, infrastructure, platforms and applications for Fortune 2000 companies, and provides 24/7 support solutions for leading enterprise, consumer and technology vendors.

The 14-year-old company’s loyal customers include industry leaders Alcatel-Lucent, Sun Microsystems, and Blackboard Inc. It is a professionally managed, privately held company with investments from SAIF, Goldman Sachs and Sierra Ventures.

Sharma said cost, customer service, and language were considered in the expansion of operations in the Philippines.

“We believe in the local talent. We are impressed with the quality and discipline of our people here,” said Sharma who has been instrumental in the conceptualization, incubation, and exponential growth of the infrastructure business at Satyam.

Prior to CSS, Sharma was with Unisys, USA as vice president and managing partner for infrastructure transformation services, during which he doubled the size of the business, and helped the company focus on solution-selling and integrating the ITS roadmap with the go-to-market strategy.

“We know how to train, motivate and retain people,” said Sharma about their Taguig headquarters that include a swanky recreational area replete with a karaoke bar, pool table, table tennis, and home theater facilities.
