NCRPO teams up with Firetide to boost Metro Manila security

-

MANILA, Philippines - The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recently signed a deal with Firetide, a global leader in wireless mesh network for public safety and industrial applications, for the setting up of a Real Time Wireless Video Surveillance.

The said surveillance mechanism is aimed at boosting security in Metro Manila.

Under the deal, Firetide, together with partner MEC, will setup a state-of-the-art highly reliable wireless mesh network to serve as the backbone infrastructure of the NCRPO Command Center.

Selected for the project after an extensive competitive review, Firetide’s infrastructure mesh provides the Philippine National Police (PNP) with a viable alternative to fiber for backhauling video feeds from disparate security installations throughout the metropolis.

Firetide wireless links will aggregate more than 400 security camera feeds and deliver them in real time to the NCRPO Command Center.

“We are pleased to deliver advanced technology to support PNP’s communications need in the critical area of public safety and security,” said Bo Larsson, chief executive officer of Firetide.

“Manila joins other cities in the Asia-Pacific region, such as Jakarta, Singapore and Seoul, which are already utilizing Firetide infrastructure mesh networks to provide real-time communications for municipal services and the public,” he added.
