Taking Palawan business to the next level

-

MANILA, Philippines - It was a day to remember as PLDT SME Nation and Bodega Site, a leading Palawan-based IT business solutions company, formalized their partnership in a whole-day affair that rocked Puerto Princesa City.

The event marked the unveiling of PLDT SME Nation’s showroom at the Bodega Site branch. PLDT SME Nation vice president and head Kat Luna-Abelarde, Bodega Site CEO engineer Anthony Baisa, and Palawan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) chairman Alexander Onghocgan led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Before the actual event, a promotional motorcade was held around Puerto Princesa. Starting at Bodega Site’s main office on Rizal street, Baisa led a convoy that ended at the new PLDT SME Nation showroom. Models wearing the PLDT SME Nation logo paraded on six hi-lux sedans bannered with the Bodega Site brand.

A press conference was then held at the Fleuris Hotel. Prior to the formal launch, a soft launch of the showroom was held earlier this month with Puerto Princesa Mayor Edward Hagedorn as guest.

Technology & tourism

With Palawan having a booming tourism industry, PLDT SME Nation is looking to boost the province’s business growth potential through its products and services.

“Palawan has been a leader in tourism not only in the local sphere but also internationally. PLDT SME Nation is here to help local SMEs and the business landscape to take it to the next level,” Abelarde said.

She added: “Everything today is really driven by the Internet and technology. It is our fervent interest to invest in Palawan through Bodega Site by providing you with state-of-the-art facilities.”

Giving assurance that such platforms will be available and ready for Palawan, PLDT core network head for South Luzon Edwin San Pascual said future services and connectivity facilities are underway.

“We like to ensure that PLDT facilities cannot be equaled by the competition. That’s why we are capitalizing on our strength as an integrated provider not only on our existing voice and broadband services but for new services we are bringing to Palawan,” he said.

Partnering for Palawan

Seeing Palawan businesses slowly moving forward with the help of technology, Bodega Site is striving to improve the IT conditions for the province’s economic growth.

“As we are challenged to provide you (Palawan) quality service, we have tapped the help of PLDT SME Nation to partner with us in this endeavor of technological advancement and support the booming Palawan tourism campaign,” Baisa said.

Aside from sustaining the tourism sector, Baisa also sees great potential for Palawan to start developing a call center industry.
