Microsoft Live@edu integrates IT in learning

-

MANILA, Philippines - An expanding set of technology services is enhancing the teaching and learning process for the Department of Education (DepEd) and Filipino teachers and students who are now all able to communicate and collaborate online.

Microsoft Live@edu is a platform that provides schools with free services, which include e-mail hosting, database integration, data repository, and learning resources.

Launched in 2008, the service has now provided over 80,000 Live@edu accounts in the Philippines.

Aside from the DepEd, the Mapua Institute of Technology and Malayan Colleges and other academic institutions have taken advantage of the Microsoft Live@edu offerings.

“Technology is playing an increasingly big role in the way people work and we would like the power of IT to positively affect the way our teachers teach and students learn,” said Steve Haite, director of Live@edu-Information Worker of Microsoft Asia Pacific.

Microsoft Live@edu improves the delivery of administrative and academic services by providing tools that enable communication and efficient sharing of information.
