ICT Group inaugurates first provincial center

MANILA, Philippines - The ICT Group has announced the inauguration of its first provincial operations center in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Joining the ICT Group’s executive management staff during the inauguration last Feb. 24 were provincial and city officials led by Gov. Aurelio Umali, and education and business leaders.

Located on the fourth floor of the Megacenter in Cabanatuan City, the provincial site has the capacity to expand to 600 agent workstations and is scheduled to be fully operational by December.

Jack Magee, ICT Group president and chief operating officer for North America, attended the ceremony.

“We are pleased to be marking the official inauguration of ICT Group’s first provincial Philippine operation in Cabanatuan. We plan to support a range of customer care and BPO processing programs from this center, which offers a strong base of qualified, available resources,” Magee said.

“In addition to various cost advantages, we expect the Cabanatuan center to offer clients additional flexibility and scalability, as they further diversify their offshore customer care operations infrastructure,” he added.

The ICT Group’s Cabanatuan center has been operational since June last year.

Karen Batungbacal, president of ICT Group’s Philippine operations, said, “Cabanatuan was chosen for the company’s first provincial site because of its intrinsic advantages. We needed to be certain that our first provincial site would effectively deliver high-quality, cost-effective customer care solutions, consistent with our other Philippines-based operations.”

“Cabanatuan offered available, highly skilled talent as well as overwhelming support from the city government and educational institutions,” she added.

The city government recently put up a Language City that teaches English, Nihongo and Mandarin to support continued employment opportunities in the province.
