IP e-Games stages ‘Blazing to Dom1Nation,’ prelude to first-year grand event

-
IP e-Games Ventures Inc. (IP E-Games), the fastest growing Philippine gaming operator and a subsidiary of IPVG, an information and technology communications company, held "Blazing to Dom1Nation," a series of high-octane tourneys and contests in preparation for the biggest upcoming event in Philippine gaming, Dom1Nation, e-Games first anniversary celebration.

Blazing to Dom1Nation was held at the Extreme Gaming Grounds (EGG) complex at SM Mall of Asia to house RAN Online, the revolutionary No. 1 free-to-play MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game); O2 Jam, the No. 1 online music game; Audition Dance Battle, the hottest online rhythm game; Supreme Destiny, the classical fantasy MMORPG; Dreamville, the only avatar-based community portal; and Battle Position, the online side scroller shoot ‘em up game.

Ed Pasion, marketing director of IP e-Games, said Blazing to Dom1Nation was held to build up the momentum for the April 28 first anniversary event.

"We got so much energy and excitement about Dom1Nation that we decided to hold Blazing to Dom1Nation to let players sample what’s going to happen in our first year celebration event," he said.

The slick EGG Complex at the SM Mall of Asia was perfect venue for the Dom1Nation precursor event. More than 70 top-of-the-line PCs were made available and 20 42-inch plasma screen displays allowed players to view the action happening at the EGG.

Each e-Games title held separate gaming events and staged its own live contests.

Headlining the list of exciting events was RAN Online’s special Battle Royale edition, exclusive for participants present at EGG, while Audition Dance Battle held an extra-special tournament for all Audition players. Dreamville also sponsored a special section for the 2007 MTV VJ Hunt.

The gaming events were not the only highlights of Blazing to Dom1Nation. E-gamers were also treated to live performances of the acoustic band Suicidal Genius and dance group Exodus.

In addition, more RAN Online and Audition competitions, raffle promos, and of course, non-stop free play were made available all daylong. The event started 11 a.m. and lasted till 7 p.m.

Heidi Mendita, head of the e-Games MMORPG group, said they were expecting to fill up EGG to more than full capacity.

"Our players are so excited that they are raring to go. But we didn’t expect more than 300 people to attend the event, participating and playing our games," Mendita said.

"Blazing to Dom1Nation is just the tip of the iceberg. What we’ll have on April 28 at the Le Pavillon will absolutely be bigger, splashier and cooler. And the crowds will be 10 times the size of what we got at Blazing to Dom1Nation," Pasion said.
