Leading recruitment firms Jobstreet.com and iTpros.ph have partnered with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) to organize a two-day job fair in conjunction with the Cebu ICT 2007 International Conference and Exhibition.
Cebu ICT 2007 will take place June 26-28 at Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort and the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC). The job fair will take place at CICC.
The Tech Jobs Fair will highlight the IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) sector as key economic drivers by showcasing employment and career opportunities, and facilitating exchange among global organizations and technology professionals, according to organizers.
The international conference and exhibition is one of the principal activities comprising Cebu Business Month (CBM), which is organized annually to promote Cebu as an ideal destination for foreign direct investment. "That Cebu is poised for significant growth has been one of the best kept secrets in the global ICT (information and communications technology) industry. But the word is out, and we have successfully communicated the benefits of investing in Cebu now to many corners of the world," said Bonifacio Belen , CBM ICT chair, Cebu ICT 2007.
The job expo, which is expected to attract an estimated 10,000 applicants, will include employer corporate presentations, onsite business meetings between employers and professionals, skills assessments, and career talks. "You can't really grow the industry unless your human capital grows with it. We aim to address that with this job fair and hopefully match a significant number of applications with the many technology jobs available in Cebu," Jobstreet.com general manager Grace Colet explained.
"We're sending out the message to prospective job applicants that if you're not engaged in the IT and ITES sectors yet, now is the time," said iTpros.ph vice president Gina Duminy.
Among the leading Internet recruitment websites in Asia-Pacific, Jobstreet.com offers a comprehensive suite of interactive recruitment services. International and local Asian corporations recruit from Jobstreet.com's ever-increasing pool of top talent and manage their recruitment process through uniquely developed software applications via the Internet.
iTpros.ph was designed to become the Philippines ' key employment facilitator for the ICT industry. Today, iTpros.ph encompasses the employment, outsourcing and education arenas of the ICT industry and is regarded as a key contributor to its growth.
