Chikka showcases latest apps in Barcelona

Chikka Asia Inc., creator of the popular PC to mobile messaging service, joined mobile network operators and content and data enablers from over 180 countries in the recently concluded 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.
"We are proud to be in Barcelona once again to show what the Philippines has achieved beyond being the world’s ‘text capital,’" said Gio Bacareza, Chikka’s business development director.
"The Philippine mobile industry continues to thrive as we are able to produce mobile messaging-based applications and products of high universal utility and quality for the world’s most demanding mobile markets," Bacareza added.
The 3GSM World Congress is one of the biggest mobile technology exhibitions in the world, gathering the industry’s movers and shakers. From mobile operators to equipment vendors, the latest innovations in the industry are showcased and recognized.
Chikka showcased the latest mobile applications and platforms deployed in some of the world’s most demanding mobile markets such as the Philippines and India and spanning the entire mobile applications development landscape from communications to mobile commerce.
"Our products have been tried and tested in the world’s most exciting mobile markets. Events such as the 3GSM Congress allow us to showcase the high and universal utility of the products and services we have created and continue to create for a mobile world," Bacareza said.
Chikka’s mobile applications are currently deployed in over 30 telecommunications carriers in countries such as the United States, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
With applications currently being tested by more mobile operators around the world, Chikka is a leading "exporter" of messaging-based applications in the Philippines.
Today, the Chikka messenger has over 35 million users, making it the most widely used and viewed electronic digital property by Filipinos worldwide.
