Newsboy delivers Anytime, Anywhere

In today's business world, or in our common, everyday lives, knowledge of current events is a definite must before decisions are made.

Newsboy, a mobile application developed by MobileGroup, Inc., was recently launched and provides breaking news literally at the palm of your hands. Major news partners led by The Philippine Star/Philstar.com have partnered with MGI to make their content available on Newsboy.

This handy mobile service provides great assistance to people who are constantly on the move and have no time to browse newspapers. Since Newsboy is installed on the phone, users can literally go anywhere and still have access to their favorite newspapers. Furthermore, once you download a news story, you get to read the full article.

The menu-driven interface provides an easy-to-use environment that any person of any age will be able to operate with little trouble. Initially, available for Smart subscribers, Newsboy is in the process offering the service to Globe and Sun users as well.

Downloading the MIDlet through Smart can be done by visiting the Smart WAP site and checking out the "What's New" section.

Once you open the Newsboy link, details and information about the application will be displayed and the user just needs to click on "Download Newsboy" to start the download and subsequent installation process. After installation, simply click on the Newsboy icon and select the Smart GPRS connection.

The application starts off with the list of news partners. Click on the preferred news partner and browse the headlines for free. To view the whole the article, click on the desired headline to download. Downloading costs only P2.50 per article.

Newsboy was designed to run on Java MIDP 2.0 compliant phones. It has been tested on a wide variety of mobile units, including but not limited to, Nokia, Motorola, O2, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

You can also access Newsboy via WAP by visiting wap.newsboyonline.com on your mobile phones. MGI has set up a support hotline - (632) 751-4050 to help users configure the application on their phone
