HP expands tie-ups on Integrity servers

-
HP recently announced the expansion of two key partnership agreements with the IBM Software Group and TIBCO aimed at broadening choice for customers in the Asia-Pacific running on HP Integrity servers and the HP-UX 11i operating system.

HP and the IBM Software Group have announced an agreement that will make the entire suite of IBM software products, including WebSphere, Tivoli, Information Management, Lotus and Rational available on HP Integrity servers running on the HP-UX 11i operating system.

HP and TIBCO Software Inc. also jointly announced that the HP-UX 11i operating system has been named as one of the preferred Unix platforms for TIBCO global customers.

This will enable enterprises to optimize IT operations by deploying TIBCO’s leading business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions on HP Integrity servers.

"HP has had a decade-long relationship with the IBM Software Group as well as TIBCO, aimed at providing Fortune 1000 customers with solutions to power their most-demanding workloads," said Peter Hall, vice president and general manager for business critical systems of HP Asia-Pacific’s Technology Solutions Group.

"Over the next few months, the entire portfolio of IBM middleware products will be available on the HP platform. Further, TIBCO’s leading SOA and BPM solutions will now be ported to HP Integrity servers in the next 12 months. These two strategic agreements demonstrate the acceleration in market momentum and customer demand for HP Integrity server solutions globally and in the Asia-Pacific," Hall added.

HP’s agreement with IBM is expected to significantly broaden customer choice of IBM middleware running on HP Integrity servers and the HP-UX 11i operating system.

In the next few months, under this porting agreement, IBM will begin to expand its existing middleware offerings on HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i across its WebSphere, Rational, Tivoli, Lotus and Information Management brands.

Over time, the agreement will nearly triple the number of existing IBM middleware products available on the HP platform.

HP and the IBM Software Group share a number of high-profile enterprise customers in the financial services, telecom, manufacturing, government and healthcare industries.

The two companies work together to develop multi-platform solutions based on open standards to meet the needs of these customers.
