GlobeSolutions launches its 1st M2M service for enterprises

GlobeSolutions enters the emerging field of M2M (machine-to-machine) services as it pioneers a solution that allows enterprises to keep track of their energy consumption remotely, via GPRS and SMS, to help them initiate cost-saving measures.

This new service, called GEMS or Globe Energy Management Solution, was launched by GlobeSolutions and was exhibited at the "M2M: Expanding Business Possibilities Event" held at New World Renaissance Hotel in Makati City last March 30.

"You can now access and monitor, either through text messaging or the Internet, actual energy consumption. GEMS allows corporations to proactively manage and budget their electrical consumption, resulting in savings," says GlobeSolutions head Dan David.

GEMS allows an enterprise to check its electrical consumption, and set consumption budgets hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

GEMS sends alerts via e-mail or SMS when enterprises exceed their electric consumption budgets.

Soon, GEMS will also allow enterprises to control (on and off) ordinary electrical items via SMS.

Corporate customers are given regular energy consumption reports via the Internet or SMS to help them understand their electric consumption patterns.

With this information on hand, enterprises are able to identify the factors that affect their consumption and implement efficiency measures.

With the introduction of GEMS, GlobeSolutions is expected to create more wireless M2M solutions for businesses, leveraging on the strength and stability of Globe Telecom as a cellular network services provider.
