Conference tackles security strategies

Information is the most important resource any organization controls. Ensuring the confidentiality of information is crucial in today’s world. To help guard against the increasing risk of identity theft, corporate espionage, data pirating, cyber terrorism, and information security breaches, one needs to have a clear framework or methodology that involves people, products, and processes.

Security solutions provide some protection, but the only way to effectively do business in an insecure digital world is to put processes and policies in place that recognize the inherent insecurity in the products. The trick is to reduce the risk of exposure regardless of the products or patches.

On March 16, Jerry Liao’s Powertips will hold a vendor-neutral security conference for enterprise security managers and senior IT professionals entitled "Security Secrets and Strategies" at the Grand Ballroom of Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati City.

It will be the country’s biggest gathering of security experts where key issues related to information and network security, with presentations provided by recognized experts and exhibits by some of the nation’s leading organizations will be discussed and presented.

The Powertips security conference is a good opportunity to learn and raise awareness of the importance of cyber security and empower corporate infrastructure and personal systems to protect themselves online and ensure that computers are not used to attack others.

Topics were designed for anyone responsible for, are involved or interested in information and network security, and for those new to the security issue as well as for seasoned professionals.

The Powertips security conference is supported by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium Inc. and the Philippine Certified Information Systems Security Professionals.

Tickets are available at all SM TicketNet outlets. Interested parties can also register online at www.infochat.com.ph or call 911-5555.
