On the road with Ferrari 4000

-
An online survey conducted by CnetAsia recently gave the latest Ferrari 4000 notebook series from Acer its highest average mark of 8.2 (excellent) among a number of laptop brands launched middle of this year in terms of design, features, performance and battery life as well as service and support.

The results were based on the number of hits attained by each laptop on the CnetAsia notebook channel combined with the sales figures of various retailers.

As such, the new Acer Ferrari 4000 earns the distinction of being CnetAsia’s "Editor’s Choice" for June 2005.

Named after the fiery car brand known for its successful stint in Formula 1 races, the new Ferrari 4000 is the first notebook of its kind in the market that uses a state-of-the-art carbon fiber casing.

Featuring a large, luminous 15.4" WSXGA LCD widescreen display with extra-fast ATI Mobility Radeon X700 graphics, 128 MB DDR memory PCI express architecture, 1GB DDR memory and 100GB HDD as well as DVD-super multi-double layer drive unit and a five-in-one card reader, the Ferrari 4000 runs on the latest AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology processor for thin and light notebooks to ensure top performance.

Acer’s Ferrari 4000 also offers easy connection solutions though its integrated Bluetooth technology, Firewire IEEE 1394 interface, four ultra-fast USB 2.0 ports, DVD reader/burner, S-Video out port, built-in 10/100/1000 Gigabit LAN and 56Kbps modem, and a revolutionary wireless, Bluetooth optical mouse.

The Ferrari 4000 comes in black and exclusive Ferrari-red.
