Leading experts tapped for Graphic Expo seminars

Sixteen of the country’s leading experts in high-tech printing, imaging, Web publishing, photography and animation have been tapped for the seminar series of Graphic Expo 2005, which will be held on June 1-4 at the Philippine Trade Training Center.

These IT gurus will tackle the latest trends in their respective fields, encompassing practically all areas of graphics, photography and publishing.

They include the country’s topnotch Photoshop guru Jun Miranda, advertising creative director and engineer Tony Bucu of Powerhaus Unlimited, Flash engineer and senior Web developer Jon Danao of Slingshot Interactive, Epson Stylus Pro photographer and instructor Dominique James of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging, digital artist and consultant Henry Lopez of the Philippine Animation Studio Inc., Apple and Macromedia certified trainer Dennis Lucero of Mediastreak Multimedia and Internet Development, and post-production expert and on-air promotions head Robert Quilao of MTV Philippines.

Other members of the elite panel are US-educated Photoshop CS expert and instructor Mario Ramirez of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging; independent graphic designer Ige Ramos of "Tomato Graphics" fame; digital imaging photo lecturer Richel Mascarinas, vice president of the Society of Philippine Portrait Photographers (SPPP); professional photographer and adviser Toch Arellano of the SPPP; architect and animation training specialist Ronna Lara-Bes of Discreet for its Asia-Pacific clients; professional multimedia lecturer and computer graphic professor Ronnie Millevo of the De La Salle University’s College of St. Benilde and St. Scholastica’s College Manila; and technical support engineers Catherine Crisostomo, Hanz Dy and Mike Martinez of the Adobe Customer Support Center that supports the entire Asia-Pacific region.

The seminar series for this 10th edition of Graphic Expo covers 31 specialized topics on digital imaging applications – from desktop and Web publishing and large-format advertising to pre-press, print production, and multimedia and animation, among other aspects.

Graphic Expo is the country’s premier trade show in these fields, all based on a unique concept of digital workflow and process and complementation involving the various stages of production.

Invited to join the seminars are professional and amateur graphic and digital designers, Web masters, photographers, digital artists, animation and design studios, production houses, schools, training institutions, animators, multimedia specialists, corporate executives, students, hobbyists, and enthusiasts.

Highlighting the seminar series during its four-day run will be a grand exhibit of this year’s latest state-of-the-art products, equipment, facilities, tools and services in desktop and Web publishing, digital imaging and photography, pre-press and print production, large-format printing, and multimedia and animation.
