Expo seminars to tackle newest trends in imaging, Web publishing, animation

A special seminar series is being readied by experts to orient Filipinos on the latest trends in high-tech printing, imaging, Web publishing and animation, encompassing practically all areas of graphics, photography and publishing.

The seminars will form part of the annual IT event Graphic Expo, which will be held at the Philippine Trade Training Center on June 1 to 4.

The seminar series for this 10th edition of Graphic Expo covers 31 specialized topics on digital imaging applications – from desktop and Web publishing and large format advertising to pre-press, print production, and multimedia and animation, among many others. Graphic Expo is the country’s premier trade show in these fields, all based on a unique concept of digital workflow and process complementation involving various stages of production.

Invited to join the seminars are professional and amateur graphic and digital designers, Web masters, photographers, digital artists, animation and design studios, production houses, schools, training institutions, animators, multimedia specialists, corporate executives, students, hobbyists and enthusiasts.

Seminar topics include the ABCs of Photoshop and its advanced techniques, scanning for designers, color management and printing, automation and amazing shortcuts, advanced portrait retouching, color correction, image compositing, InDesign CS, effective publications design, harnessing the power of Acrobat, PDF workflow and design for creative professionals, using Photoshop and Illustrator together, Macromedia Flash for corporate presentation, energizing Macromedia Flash projects with Action Script, and Macromedia Flash cartooning.

The seminars will also tackle Adobe Illustrator for beginners, eye-popping graphics with Adobe Illustrator, advanced Illustrator techniques, desktop pre-press, effective character design with 3ds max v.7, Character Studio, making corporate presentations with materials and websites using multimedia tools, editing essentials of Adobe Premiere Pro, its tips and tricks, current trends in printing, glamour nude and bodyscape photography, portrait photography, digital wedding photography, editing essentials of Fina Cut Pro, and stunning visual effects with Adobe After Effects.

Highlighting the seminar series during its four-day run is a grand exhibit of the latest state-of-the-art products, equipment, facilities, tools and services in desktop and Web publishing, digital imaging and photography, pre-press and print production, large format printing, and multimedia and animation.
