It’s another busy day at the office, and once again you find yourself virtually strapped to your computer with tons of work to complete. So what’s the best way to grab a quick bite?

Call delivery? Nah, that’s too analog. Order online? Well, that’s more attuned to the times.

Yes, now you can order your favorite fried chicken meal or burgers without leaving the confines of your digital life. Through the new McDonald’s online delivery system, a McDonald’s restaurant is literally just a click of the mouse away.

Developed by Pilipinas Teleserv, the same company behind the 8McDo delivery service, www.8McDo.com, the country’s newest food ordering website, is as colorful and as vibrant as any McDonald’s outlet you could find.

Cathy Gavino, manager for business extensions of McDo-nald’s Philippines, says the new website is their response to the changing lifestyle of Filipinos, especially those in Metro Manila.

"More and more people are becoming glued to their computers and having less and less time to go out. That’s why we developed the 8McDo.com site to enable them to still get a McDonald’s food experience even while working or surfing the Internet," she says.

To try out 8McDo.com, just type in the website address on your Internet browser and you can start clicking your way through the system. There is a pull-down menu of your choice items which is very similar to what you’ll find in any McDonald’s counter. Just click the items you want, choose "Upgrade Order" if you want a large drink and fries with your meal, and click on the "Continue" button to proceed to the Check Out page.

Provide your personal details and delivery address, then click the "I’m Done" button. This sends your request to McDonald’s instantly for processing.

Upon accomplishing your order, kindly await an order confirmation either through a phone call or an e-mail. Upon receiving the call or e-mail, you can confirm your order right away to successfully complete the process.

To further speed up the online ordering process, Gavino encou-rages customers to register and have an 8McDo.com account. This way, she says, the customer need not fill up the contact or location information form every time he or she makes an order. "The customer just have to log in and the system will automatically know where to send the food," she says.

McDonald’s online food delivery service is currently available only in Metro Manila, between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. However, its phone delivery service (tel. no. 8-6236), is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the Makati and Ortigas areas, and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in other areas in Metro Manila. It is also available in the provinces through its toll-free number 1-800-1000-86236 for PLDT subscribers, or 1-800-300-86236 for Digitel subscribers.
