AMA bares iCarnegie enrollments

-
AMA Education System, the pioneer and largest IT-based education provider in Asia, and iCarnegie Inc., an educational affiliate of Carnegie Mellon University and provider of world-class software development curriculum, announced that 20,000 students have enrolled in iCarnegie courses at AMA campuses.

This represents a successful launch of the iCarnegie curriculum program at AMA, with enrollees in 42 AMA Computer University campuses in the Philippines and the new AMA International University campus in Bahrain.

AMA said its partnership with iCarnegie addresses the challenge of President Arroyo for the country to increase its number of highly skilled and certified information and communication technology professionals.

The iCarnegie partnership, forged last April, allows AMA to contribute to these goals by bolstering the quality of its computer science education, and fueling its ability to meet its target of annually producing 10,000 graduates with IT degrees and certifications.

"We anticipated that there would be tremendous interest in the iCarnegie courses at AMA because the program leverages the leading computer science and software engineering education of the world-renowned Carnegie Mellon University," said Dr. Amable Aguiluz V, founder and chairman of the AMA Education System.
