Graphic Expo 2003 ongoing

Showcasing new design technologies and tools, the imaging and print industrys four-day "Graphic Expo 2003" at Philtrade is on and will run up to tomorrow.
Designed to upgrade the creative skills of photographers, digital artists, graphic arts service providers, print and IT professionals, webmasters, and multimedia specialists and animators, Graphic Expo showcases new technologies in digital photography, imaging, large format printing, publishing/video editing software, color management, and design-oriented workshops.
The show kicked off last Wednesday with the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Hewlett-Packard Phils. country manager Rose Hwan, Fujifilm YKL general manager Robert Lim, Zone V Camera Club president Manny Inumerable, Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines president June Perez and eArt Philippines president Francisco Doplon.
Plaques of appreciation were awarded to sponsors and winners of competitions in digital art, digital imaging and animation, and of the Philippine Internet Review Book Cover Contest.
There was also a parade of imaging and printing products and services that ushered in the welcome reception.
Graphic Expo seminar topics are all relevant to industry workflow processes and software mastery such as Photoshop 7.0, Advanced Photoshop Techniques, PDF Workflow for Print Production, Designing a Dynamic Logo System, Editing Essentials in Final Cut Pro 3.0 and Flash Cartooning.
Other topics are Color Management and Scanning Techniques, Inside Freehand MX, Whats New with Corel Draw 11, Design Essential for Desktop Publishing, Basics of Typography, Creating 3D Visualization with 3D Studio Max 5, Visual Effects with Combustion, Flash for Corporate Presentation, and Audio-Visual Presentation from Script to Screen.
Other seminars tackle Integrating Illustrator and Photoshop, Designing Type with Illustrator, Professional Retouching Techniques, Creating Explosive Web Graphics with Fireworks, Energizing Flash MX Projects with Action Script, Web Animation Essentials, Tools and Techniques, and the Making of Web Videos.
The seminars are being conducted by mostly Adobe and Macromedia-certified and Apple Solutions experts and US-trained instructors who are industry practitioners themselves.
The exhibit showcases new printing and imaging equipment, hardware, tools and latest state-of-the-art technologies of such key industry players as Epson, Hewlett-Packard, Fujifilm YKL, Senco Link Link Technologies, Sony, Canon and Gakken Phils. Corp. Entrance to the exhibit is free.
