Jologs atbp.

- Ann Corvera -
How much of a jologs are you? Wait, what is jologs anyway? It’s nothing new actually. By this time, people are already used to hearing this peculiar term and practically not caring anymore where it came from.

It simply exists among us, even within us.

According to an Ally McBelat column at Cybertambayan.com entitled The Definitive Jologs Guide, the term jologs has actually "evolved to encompass a myriad of social faux pas."

There really are many ways to describe what jologs is.

But minus the usual jologs trivia game, to get a better grasp of the other dimensions of this slang and get in touch with your jologs side (despite denials that you have one), check out the cool and hilarious website of Sakanto Dekarabaw at http://sakanto.dekarabaw.com.

Street talk and hollow topics. That’s what Sakanto Dekarabaw is all about. Usapang jologs sa kanto, ika nga. But hilarious and interactive features make Sakanto Dekarabaw an attention-grabbing site that earned it a finals slot in the Weird and Humor category of last year’s Philippine Web Awards.

There’s no fancy stuff at Sakanto Dekarabaw. Just simplicity in its presentation, comical stuff, gags and of course, jologs at its wackiest form.

Parental guidance, however, is advised as the term "wholesome" is definitely not in the Sakanto Dekarabaw dictionary.

It’s a no-holds barred exchange of views and what-have-you as Sakanto Dekarabaw allows its viewers to express the goofy jologs side in them. Talk about free speech!

Each section at Sakanto Dekarabaw has a message board for anything that you want to say – related to their feature or not, ridiculous or profound, just anything under the sun.

If you want more interactivity, click on the chat station of Sakanto Dekarabaw and goof around with fellow jologs and istambay sa kanto.

Flooded with problems? Let Ate Peachy give you a piece of her mind with Sakanto’s Dear Ate Peachy Adbays Kolumn (advice column for the unfortunate ones who just might not get it). Remember though that this site is pure silliness so don’t get carried away. Just let Ate Peachy lighten up your mood with her out-of-this-world hirit (remarks). Actually, just looking at her picture with that alaskador (jeering) smile of hers is already enough to tickle your funny bones.

Get a kick out of Sakanto Dekarabaw’s featured jologs ta-artits (Tagalog slang with a twist for actor) and spoofs of mostly local showbiz personalities doing, of course, the jologs pose.

Want to get in the act? No sweat! Just strike your most annoying jologs pose and click! Submit your photo to Sakanto Dekarabaw and before you know it, you’re already a certified jologs – with your picture on the Web!

See, jologs is not just about talking "the" talk or walking "the" walk. It’s not just about dressing up in an unusual fashion or being well-versed with every bit of showbiz trivia, particularly from the not-so-distant past. Yes, it is not even just about knowing all the members of all editions of That’s Entertainment, or the cast of Todas, Sapak Talaga, Iskul Bukul, Urbana, Felisa and Others (UFO for short). Whoa!

So uhm anyway, the definition of jologs has gone way beyond all these mentioned. Maybe jologs is all these things combined and more. There’s not one definitive answer to the question. What is jologs? Face it. It’s just there. It can’t be denied so why not have fun out of it and let Sakanto Dekarabaw show you how.
