3Com beefs up network solutions

-
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to help enterprise customers improve network performance, scalability and efficiency, 3Com Corp., a leader in Gigabit Ethernet technology, has announced a range of new high-performance enterprise networking solutions.

The new solutions build on 3Com’s existing portfolio of modular and stackable local area network (LAN) switches and network interface cards (NICs).

With the industry’s best price/performance, the new enterprise switches are based on industry-leading 3Com-developed ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology uniquely designed for rich features and high performance.

The new 3Com desktop and server NICs can be installed for an instant network upgrade or as part of an end-to-end Gigabit Ethernet network migration strategy.

3Com’s innovative ASIC technology for switches has transformed complex standards-based Gigabit technologies into easy-to-use products based on both fiber and copper transport.

"These products help business customers achieve higher returns on technology investments quickly," said Kenneth Palacios, 3Com Phils. country manager.

"We are seeing enterprise customers deploy 3Com’s Gigabit Ethernet technology in server farms and data centers, as well as upgrade existing 10/100 and ATM backbones to Gigabit Ethernet," he added.

Choosing the right networking products can be confusing for some IT managers. With the addition of new desktop and server NICs, 3Com continues to be the only networking vendor that offers a complete end-to-end Gigabit Ethernet solution.
