In its continuing push to promote the adoption and usage of XML (Extensible Markup Language), Software AG, the leading provider of native XML products for the electronic business marketplace, recently announced the launch of the XML Academy in the Philippines.
The XML Academy aims to provide IT professionals with an opportunity to identify and engage in education courses that are most applicable to the e-business needs of their organizations.
Trainees are guided to select education courses that will ultimately equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully and effectively implement and maintain XML processes in their workplaces.
Jenifer Sun, managing director of Software AG (Phils) Inc., said: "In todays knowledge-based economy, it is the people who will be the driving force of any organization. Our commitment to providing the corporates of the world with sophisticated, real-world education solutions in the area of XML would mean that organizations could now deploy their talents for maximum return and also bring their skills up to mark."
She added: "We recognize that the task of generating regionwide acceptance and usage of XML is beyond the sole effort of Software AG. As such, we are open to active collaboration with other ICT organizations like Microsoft, IBM, Sun Microsystems, etc. to accelerate the adoption of XML in this part of the world."
The XML Academy offers XML selections that are essentially business-oriented, standards-based and product-specific. Based on their needs, trainees can enroll in the most suitable and relevant education course(s) designed to enable them to attain an acceptable level of competency and XML literacy to solve complex, real-world business challenges.
Besides XML related courses, the XML Academy also offers education courses on Software AGs Tamino XML Server, the companys suite of next-generation, cutting-edge products based on XML technology.
Trainees have the option to become certified either as an XML or a Tamino XML engineer by successfully completing an examination related to the education course they have taken at the XML Academy.
