Government portal now online

The Philippine government’s portal is now online at www.gov.ph. The site features a comprehensive government directory, breaking news from the Office of the Press Secretary and a SONA (State of the Nation Address) update feature which keeps track of President Arroyo’s priority projects and targets for fulfillment.

The portal also has an extensive search function to help users find specific information on government officials and projects. Results from the search are categorized according to government offices, news, people and speeches.

Visitors to the site can also interact with the message forum feature as well as contact government officials through their e-mail addresses.

The portal has also been ported to the PocketPC with a version found at www.gov.ph/pocketpc that is portable and can be accessed and downloaded into handheld computers. It also has external links to different government and special project websites.
