Filipino Dot.com stages virtual grand opening

-
LabayenPhotography.com, a Filipino-owned US-based online magazine and gallery, staged a virtual grand opening last August 25 in a world-wide-web event that started at 10:00 am Auckland, New Zealand time (GMT +12) and ended at 6:00 pm Honolulu, Hawaii time (GMT -10).

What made the grand opening so special was that it was held online and not in a physical location. Those who attended the event logged on to http://www.LabayenPhotography.com. Gig Harbor Mayor Gretchen Wilbert’s speech, as well as the ribbon cutting were held online and in lieu of gifts and prizes were given away. There was also a treasure hunt and an online quiz. Also featured will be Gus Labayen’s interpretation of Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune, as performed on a Kawai Concert Grand Piano. Finally, the online magazine will feature events around the Gig Harbor area, including the Maritime Gig.

Being a virtual company, the company has to be creative in staging a grand opening. Since it needed to reach out to family and friends overseas, specially in the Philippines, it can’t just have a physical event limited to Gig Harbor. The virtual grand opening was a truly a World-Wide-Web event!

LabayenPhotography.com can be reached by e-mail at [email protected] and by voice mail at 253-596-8790. It is a member of the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
