Ateneo launches business-info technology hub

The Ateneo de Manila University formally launched yesterday the Ateneo Professional Schools’ (APS) business and information technology center at the Salcedo campus in Makati City. Trade and Industry Secretary Mar Roxas II was the guest of honor and keynote speaker.
The APS-Salcedo houses the following units and offices: Ateneo Information Technology Institute (AITI), Ateneo Center for Continuing Education (CCE), Ateneo Graduate School of Business (AGSB), Prometric Testing Center, Ateneo Center for Psychological and Educational Assessment (ACESS), and the Center for Leadership and Change Inc. (CLCI).
The APS-Rockwell, on the other hand, is the main campus of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, Law School and the School of Government.
IT Master programs and short courses, short course programs for Business and, on a limited basis, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree are currently being offered by the APS-Salcedo.
The CCE, a division of the AGSB, echoes and expands Ateneo’s thrust and ideals of making a decisive impact on the lives of the people and the institutions they serve. Together with the AGSB, it aims to be acknowledged as the hub of excellence in executive education, integrating the world of business and management into the world of faith and business ethics.
The AITI is committed to respond to and strengthen linkages with the business community through continuing IT education and development in the country and in the Asia-Pacific region. It plays a significant role in Ateneo’s vision to effectively respond to the changes and mobility in the world market.
The ACESS and its educational partner, the Prometric Testing Center, are an auxiliary unit that began providing computer-based standardized psychological testing and test development for academic admissions and professional licensure/certification in June 2000.
These are G-MAT, TOEFL, GRE USMLE (US Medical Licensing Examinations), and GED (General Educational Development). With its partnership with Prometric, ACESS joins a global network of 4,100 testing centers in 141 countries which bear the stamp of Prometric’s expertise in technology-based assessment.
The CLCI is the authorized distributor of Franklin Covey Co. products and services in the Philippines. Franklin Covey Co. is the leading global professional services firm offering learning and performance solutions.
CLCI’s mission-vision is to empower individuals and organizations to live and embody Principle-Centered Leadership, weaving it into their system and culture by enhancing quality leadership, innovation, trust, teamwork, communication, customer-focused service, organization alignment and other strategic initiatives.
