E-commerce and other related activities on the Internet will experience a boost with the establishment of the first full-scale "purpose built" Internet Data Center in Makati.
The AyalaPort Makati Data Center will be operational by the next quarter. It will be located on Pasong Tamo Extension on a site of over 9,200 square meters.
Apart from basic equipment co-location and bandwidth connectivity, AyalaPort Makati will provide end-to-end services such as data storage, Web hosting, applications integration, hardware and software support.
AyalaPort Makati Inc. is a joint venture that brings together the resources and expertise of iAyala, the investment arm of Ayala Corp. in the Internet-related businesses, ALINet, the technology company of Ayala Land Inc. as well as of Internet Initiative Japan, Crosswave Communications, an IIJ affiliate, and IIJ Technology, an IIJ subsidiary.
IIJ is Japan’s Internet access and solutions provider. The IIJ Group has been operating Internet data centers in Japan since 1997.
AyalaPort Makati will provide an advanced infrastructure for basic Web hosting, high-speed Internet connectivity services, as well as complex application hosting and managed services.
The development of Ayala-Port Makati is a response to the expressed needs of large enterprises, SMEs and dot-coms for more robust, secure, efficient and cost-effective Internet-related infrastructure and facilities.
AyalaPort Makati Inc. president Mark Anthony Javier explains that more and more businesses are feeling the pressure to extend their services over the Web and "conduct their businesses on a 24x7 basis but without having to invest millions of dollars on hardware and software applications, UPS backup, air-conditioning, power and fire suppression systems... not to mention the personnel to keep them running."
Events are moving very quickly with pressures from the New Economy, according to Javier. "Ultimately, enterprises need to focus on running the business and ought not to be distracted by technical problems related to maintaining their presence on the Internet," he adds.
AyalaPort Makati offers all these in a world-class facility with advanced security and maintenance features. Its services include rental of caged and open rack spaces, and rental of servers and server capacity.
AyalaPort Makati Inc. is planning a series of seminars and events to help companies of all sizes understand the benefits of using an Internet data center.
It will present the latest trends and developments in outsourced IT initiatives, technology platforms, online security issues and experiences that have helped companies of all sizes benefit using IDCs. For more details, contact [email protected].
