Quick look at the week ahead

This week is quiet both here and abroad. There are a handful of stockholder’s meetings scheduled, but nothing on the calendar that would impact the wider market.

MB BOTTOM-LINE: That’s not to say that nothing will happen. After all, today is the 1-year anniversary of PLDT’s announcement of its ?48 billion capex overrun. That was certainly a material event with a consequence tree that continues to branch out even today; Annabelle Chua, the ex-PLDT executive at the center of the controversy, was recently appointed to the Monde Nissin [MONDE 8.10 ?1.3%; 158% avgVol] board of directors, and Manny V. Pangilinan recently announced that he would return to helm PLDT [TEL 1260.00 ?0.5%; 203% avgVol] as its CEO, effective December 31.
