MANILA, Philippines - The winners of the Sineng Pambansa Climate Change Scriptwriting Contest were awarded at the Film Development Council of the Philippines last Sept. 17. The top participants of the Full Length Documentary category and the Short Fiction feature category received their Certificates of Award and claimed their prize earnings.
FDCP chairman Briccio Santos was on hand to present the winners their certificates as well as urge them to create more discourse on the topic of climate change.
For Full Length Documentary category, the winners were: 1st place – Disigisaw (written by Sheryl Rose M. Andes); 2nd – Environgers (Analisa Puod); and 3rd – The Water Bearers (Mario L. Mendez Jr.). They received cash prizes of P100,000 for first place, P50,000 for second, and P25,000 for third.
For Short Fiction feature, there was a four-way tie: Ang Bisikleta ni Lolo Kiko (written by Maricel C. Cariaga), Ang Dalawahan (Vinson Lance S. Gabato), The Assignment (Crisanto P. Fuego), and Hukay (Marvin C. Gabas). Cash prizes for the category, totaling P85,000 were equally distributed among the four, with each receiving P21,250.
