Daiichi Properties builds for a better future

MANILA, Philippines - With urbanization and climate change, there is an emerging need for structures to adapt or risk falling behind. Office buildings no longer simply provide a space to work, but are now about incorporating multiple facets of design and function into creating the ideal space. The ones to stand out are those that can effectively incorporate these needs into one sleek and sustainable design.

Also, buildings must stand against what Mother Nature has in store—be it strong winds, intense heat, or shaking ground.

“There is now a growing need for new office development projects to stand out by injecting creativity and innovation, simplicity and function, and nature and technology,” said Eric Manuel, vice president for business development at Daiichi Properties. “Indeed, much is required of buildings today in order for them to excel among a field of thousands,” he adds.

Earlier this year, Daiichi Properties bagged the prestigious Five-Star Best Office Development plum at the Asia Pacific Property Awards, which recognizes and rewards the finest in property, architecture, and interior design. The company won for World Plaza, A 27-story, premium Grade A office building located at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

World Plaza was designed by the award-winning American design and architecture firm Gensler. Its all-around design allows the building to maximize natural lighting during the day, but will also give it a seamless look against a darker night sky.

Aside from its external design, the award-winning World Plaza has been designed and tested to stand against natural calamities, an important factor for a country that stands not only along the Pacific Ring of Fire, but also welcomes in a number of typhoons annually.

World Plaza also received above-standard credits in performance-based seismic evaluations, which tested the building’s structural performance and reliability, especially in the case of earthquakes and strong winds.

In 2013, another of Daiichi Properties’ projects–One World Place—was also recognized and awarded as the Five-Star Best Office Development by the Asia Pacific Property Awards.

The 32-story One World Place, Daiichi’s flagship green property, has innovative Gensler-designed eco-friendly elements. It not only features innovative building technology, it also employs energy-saving features. Moreover, the building has also achieved credits in structural performance and reliability, above the required standards, which is grounded on performance-based seismic and wind tests.

Daiichi Properties is also responsible for other well-known projects such as The Finance Centre Tower, One Global Place, and The Regent Parkway. Daiichi also has projects at the Ortigas Center, such as The Taipan Place and The Orient Center.
