CREBA hosts 2nd int’l property course in Mla

MANILA, Philippines - The Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations Inc. (CREBA) will host the second offering of the certified international property specialist (CIPS) course in Manila to be held from Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 at the AIM Conference Centre in Makati City, with Aida Turbow of Florida, USA as lead trainer and speaker.

The CIPS course is licensed by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the world’s largest trade association considered the “voice for global real estate.” It represents over 1.3 million members in the United States as well as in 60 countries across the globe. CREBA is the exclusive NAR cooperating association in the Philippines.

The intensive five-day CIPS curriculum provides real estate professionals unique hands-on experience in international real estate transactions, focus on critical aspects of global real estate business including currency and exchange rate issues, promotes cross-cultural relationships, provides an actual feel of regional market conditions and investment performances, and covers detailed presentations on country-specific tax issues in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

According to Charlie A. V. Gorayeb, CREBA national president, the CIPS is the only designation of its kind in the worldwide real estate community. It bespeaks of expertise and global perspective, backed by powerful brand recognition across 60 countries.

“The CIPS network is made up of real estate professionals who focus on an international clientele through NAR’s alliances with 80 national and regional cooperating associations worldwide, including CREBA in the Philippines,” added Gorayeb.

Julius G. Topacio, CREBA vice-president for international council, encourages international realtor members or IRMs from the Philippines to register early and enjoy substantial discounts that will be open only to the first 100 registrants.

“Participants expect to learn about critical aspects of international real estate markets such as those in the Asia-Pacific region, the US, Europe and other transnational transactions,” said Evangeline A. Yia, chairman of the CREBA-NAR Global Real Estate Council.

The first CIPS offering in the Philippines was held in February 2012 and was attended by more than 80 of the best known real estate professionals in the country.
