The Sonoma: Raising the Bar for Suburban Living

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sta. Rosa City in Laguna is a flourishing business district in its own right in the South. Here, multi-national corporations, manufacturing businesses and information technology and business process outsourcing firms contribute to the vibrant economy of the city.

Dubbed as the “Makati of the South,” Sta. Rosa is one of the most successful cities outside Metro Manila. Job opportunities are abundance in the city, while quality education and medical services are easily accessible. Commercial and entertainment centers are also located in close proximity to a number of exclusive residential villages and communities.

Among these gated enclaves is The Sonoma, the second township project of Empire East Land Holdings Inc., the same developer of Laguna BelAir, located in Barangay Sto. Domingo. The sprawling 50-hectare community consists of four residential phases—The Enclave, The Pavilion, The Country Club and The Esplanade—that feature house and lots surrounded by landscaped gardens and verdant parks. Each Asian-inspired home is created with both form and function in mind, raising the level of luxury afforded to the average Filipino homebuyer and his family.

From The Sonoma entrance, residents can enjoy a leisurely drive along the two-lane, 24-meter-wide Sonoma Boulevard, the main road that leads to the residential phases. The recreational centerpiece of the community is a 2.5-hectare playground. It’s home to first-class amenities such as 25-meter-long lap pool, children’s pool, dip pool, pool lounge, basketball and tennis courts, a jogging path, pocket garden, sunken deck, mini-bar, game room, fitness center, spa and massage deck. There’s also a clubhouse and multi-purpose area that seats about 200 people—perfect for family get-togethers.

A variety of workplaces, schools and modern conveniences are minutes away from the project, making the commute convenient and stress-free. Industrial parks such as Sta. Rosa Business Park, Laguna Technopark, Light Industry and Science Park and Silangan Industrial Park employ hundreds. Laguna BelAir School, Xavier School, Don Bosco College, St. Scholastica’s College Westgrove, UST, DLSU-Canlubang and Ateneo Graduate School cater to the children of Sta. Rosa locals. Meanwhile, Southern Luzon Hospital and Medical Center and New Sinai Hospital and Medical Center are nearby if any medical emergency arises.

Retail and leisure centers are easily reached, too. Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Nuvali, Rustan’s, Solenad and the Sta. Elena golf course can be enjoyed by families looking for a good time during the weekend. Enchanted Kingdom, the city’s most famous landmark and the country’s biggest theme park, is also 10 minutes away from The Sonoma.

Gone are the days when one needs to relocate to Metro Manila to enjoy all the benefits of urban living. The Sta. Rosa of today may have a suburban location, but its offerings and attractions are comparable to those in the metro—good news for families who already call this city home and can’t wait to start a new life at The Sonoma.
