Wilcon Depot's quest for best eco-friendly design

-

MANILA, Philippines - Wilcon Depot, the country’s premier construction and home improvement supply firm, has renewed its pledge to conserve the environment with its first-ever inter-school search for the most creative eco-friendly-designed home interiors.

Aptly named “Obra Maestra”, the recently concluded contest is destined to become an annual event in partnership with international trade fair and expositions organizer WORLDBEX, of which Wilcon Depot is a regular presenter. The winning modules were showcased at the Obra Maestra exhibit at the Philippine Trade Training Center which had its run coinciding with the WORLDBEX 2011 fair. Wilcon executive vice president and chief operating officer Rosemarie Bosch-Ong and WORLDBEX Services founder Joseph Ang were all smiles at the ingenious way the students used their decorating skills.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) bagged a trophy and the grand prize of P50,000 in cash for its light-and-airy Living Room showcase during the Gala Night held at the Golden Seafood restaurant. Coming in a close second is the University of the Philippines (UP) which also took home a trophy and a cash prize of P20,000 for its very regal Powder Room module.
