New Eastwood building to boost $11-B BPO revenue target

The new Global One Center in Eastwood City Cyberpark will help the Philippines achieve $11B in BPO revenues this year.

Manila, Philippines - Eastwood City Cyberpark’s new business process outsourcing (BPO) office building will boost the country’s drive to meet its $11 billion BPO export revenue target this year.

According to Megaworld Corporation FVP for Business Development Jericho Go, the new Global One Center building will be able to accommodate new and established BPO players across 16 office floors and its total 32,000 sq.m. floor area. Global One Center rises 21 stories high, including the podium parking levels, in the new Palm District of the country’s first and pioneering information technology (IT) park.

Eastwood City Cyberpark remains one of the country’s brightest BPO spots. The cyberpark’s outshoring & offshoring (O&O) locators raked in US$348.31 million, an increase of 7.8% from 2008 figures, based on the most recent data from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) from 2009. With the entry of Global One and its new locators, Eastwood City Cyberpark’s revenue figures for 2011 will surely rise and contribute significantly to the national total, Go forecast.

5,000 new jobs

As for another piece of good news, he estimated that with the turnover of Eastwood City Cyberpark’s 10th BPO building last month, the cyberpark will be able to generate more than 5,000 new jobs for Filipinos to usher in the new year. This will bring the cyberpark’s total employment figure to about 35,000.

“More than inaugurating new buildings, we are delighted that Megaworld, together with our BPO partners and locators, is able to help thousands of Filipinos to not just get jobs, but gain long-term careers in the BPO sector,” Go declared. The company is ranked as the country’s #1 BPO office landlord.

Global One Center offers tenants a 24/7 wired environment. Ample telecommunication lines, back-up power and fiber optic cables assure locators uninterrupted operations and flow of information and data. BPO tenants that will locate here are also entitled to income tax holidays and other exclusive perks, as guaranteed by Peza.

At Global One Center, BPO employees get a privileged chance to live and play where they work. Leasing opportunities abound in any of Eastwood City’s plush residential condominiums. The office building is also a stroll away from Eastwood Citywalk 2’s restaurants, cinemas and shopping outlets. The new Eastwood Mall offers even more dining and shopping delights.

Global One Center is expected to be fully taken up within the next few months. BPO firms and call centers eyeing immediate office space may call 912-0708 or check out www.megaworldcorp.com.
