MANILA, Philippines - American Standard, a leading global provider of bathroom fittings and fixtures, offers another exciting new fixture that is designed to become a staple in the modern Filipino bathroom. The Smart Washer Bidet, launched this November, is a toilet-integrated bidet that offers various health and wellness benefits, as well as easy use, installation, and maintenance.
Ergonomically designed, the Smart Washer features a soft-closing cover, and is equipped with two nozzles: the family nozzle for rear washing and a longer bidet nozzle for women. Its sleek design and ceramic white colour can enhance new and retrofitted toilets.

Toilet-integrated bidets are recommended for home use where less contact to risky surfaces, such as faucets, towel dispensers, counter tops, and spray nozzles are encouraged. Because of being hands-free, it lessens the chances of infection and provides additional benefits for senior citizens and PWDs who want more independence.
“We are hopeful that a shift to this kind of design would be welcomed by the Philippine market. Shower toilets, as they are more prominently known, are very popular in Asia. Most Filipinos, however, are into traditional washing with the use of a dipper. We think it’s about time we consider an upgrade,” adds Lino.
Filters are to be replaced and nozzles brushed to ensure water quality. The Smart Washer features external taps that are used to make water-volume adjustments, thereby making the use of water more efficient as compared to using a dipper. American Standard products are created to significantly reduce water usage, thereby ensuring savings in the long run.
Smart Washer is now sold individually at P 4,495.00 for retrofitted toilets. It is also available for new installations with a Codie Top Push Water Closet at P15,684.00, or with a Winston Trip Lever Water Closet at P9,814.00 at Wilcon outlets nationwide. American Standard would also be launching other suites and packages early 2011, to include paper and soap holders, towel rails, and other accessories.
