Runway glamor launches Vista Land's Evia

-

MANILA, Philippines - “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening,” Coco Chanel once said. Indeed, the wisdom of the legendary French designer rings as true today as it did in the past century when she lorded over the catwalks of Paris for six decades. And it is precisely this truth that is at the core of 2010’s most uniquely stylish runway experience where fashion is truly about the way we live.

Dubbed as Lifestyles and Rhythms at Evia, this evening of fashion glamour and musical showcase highlighted a way of life that has emerged from the Manila South and is changing life, how we live it, where we live it, and yes, even how we dress up for it. Evia, a masterplanned city by Vista Land, has redefined and reshaped the urban landscape to create, from barren lands, what is undeniably the city of the future.

Lifestyles and Rhythms at Evia, a three-hour fashion event and concert, featured the designs of Eric Pineda who took inspiration from grand vision of Evia. Every aspect of what Vista Land has dubbed as “A DiverseCity” was translated into Pineda’s chic designs that truly brought the future into the here and now. The vast development’s different zones such as the university town, retail, corporate, residential, recreational, events venue were articulated into the fabulous collection which featured school wear, trendy outfits, business attire, smart casual dressing, sports gear, and even a wedding entourage.

For the Evia fashion event, Pineda drew his inspiration from Evia itself – taking his cue from the heart shape of the development and its location at the heart of the New South to create a collection that truly paid homage to life and the celebration of living.

Hosting the event were Denise Laurel and KC Montero. Rocking the stage were Sugarfree, Nyoy Volante and 6 Cycle Mind. Capping the evening was a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the Manila South sky for 20 colorful minutes.

“There has always been a direct relationship between where we live, how we dress and the life we live. It is very exciting for us at Vista Land to see how our vision has been translated into a clothing line that reflects the lifestyle that we have relentlessly pursued to turn into a living, breathing, vibrant city that is now Evia,” VistaLand and Lifescapes Inc. president and CEO Benjamarie Serrano said.

Indeed, the vibrancy of the vision of Evia cannot be denied. Integrating three massive developments from its three subsidiaries – Portofino from Brittany, Ponticelli from Crown Asia and Cerritos from Camella – into an urban development complete with all the necessary retail, commercial, educational facilities as well as a sprinkling of much-deserved luxuries into one cohesive and harmonious living experience never known before, Vista Land has truly built tomorrow’s city today.

This city – for it truly is a large, permanent settlement with advanced systems of housing, land use, transportation, utilities and sanitation as most dictionaries would define it – has transformed the south of Manila from separate towns into an interconnected and integrated development that provides easy access to Alabang in Muntinlupa City to the eastern part of Las Pinas with Bacoor in Cavite and San Pedro in Laguna. Residents have access to Makati, Ortigas and Quezon City through the South Luzon Expressway, Tagaytay through Molino/Aguinaldo Highway, and the heart of Manila, Caloocan, and Bulacan through Coastal Road along Manila Bay. A direct access from SLEX is also in the works.

This impressive system of road access has culminated into the integration of three urban areas: Uptown which is comprised of low density residential neighborhoods, open-air retail, commercial gateways, premier brand outlet shopping, and civic and commercial nodes; Midtown which is composed of nature parks, trails, open green corridors, sports and club facilities, places for worship and contemplation, office blocks, BPO centers, and high-density,mixed-use town centers; and Downtown which will contain the University Town, research and development facilities, hospitals and medical campuses, and low-density communities.

“Evia is the culmination of a vision that we at Vista Land have worked towards from the beginning – to fashion an urban landscape that captures the true essence of living, the sweetness of the good life, and the passion that being alive brings,” Serrano noted. “In a way, it has become a melting pot where different lifestyles meet and benefit the residents with the influx of new perspectives, ideas and innovations that make the city more vibrant, colorful and alive. Inarguably, Evia is indeed a DiverseCity!”
