Mission revival in South Forbes

-

MANILA, Philippines – The California Mission Revival style was an architectural movement that began in the late 19th century and drew inspiration from the early Spanish missions in California. It still enjoys great popularity though numerous modern residential, commercial, and institutional structures today. The style’s characteristic tiled roofs, curved parquets and gables, bracketed eaves, and arched arcades grace prominent buildings as Mission Inn in Riverside, Union Station in San Diego, and the main quad in Stanford University in Palo Alto.

Now, the Mission Revival finds its way in San Diego Homes, the newest enclave in the internationally-themed Residential Cluster of South Forbes Golf City, the country’s largest fully-integrated and all-themed golf resort city at the forefront of the Metro Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay corridor, and recipient of the Best Golf Community Development by the 2007 CNBC International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious property awards programme, and, recently, the Highly Commended Award for Best Development by the 2010 Bloomberg Asia-Pacific Residential Awards.

“The relevance of this unique style is that it is a reflection of sustainability, using building materials in the locality and suiting the climate of the region,” said Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng. “The Mission Revival can also suit our temperate climate and availability of similar materials.”
