Push for green communities in 15th Worldbex

MANILA, Philippines - With various catastrophes that have befallen those who had invested their hard-earned money into a building project, only to see it destroyed by flood, earthquake or Nature’s relentless hand, the 2010 Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (WORLDBEX) has become more relevant than ever with its emphasis on sustainable architecture.

Worldbex 2010’s theme is Constructing the Future Green Communities through Efficient Technologies and Materials –and the World Trade Center in Pasay will be filled with various, comprehensive displays of the most premium local and international products and services in the construction industry. 880 exhibit booths from over 20 countries will be on hand to showcase the best that the world has to offer without hurting the environment and creating safer homes for all.

This annual world-renowned expo has become an indispensable source of information and technology over time. Now on its 15th year, Worldbex will showcase the latest building materials and technology from March 17 to 21, 2010 to aid architects, engineers , contractors and interior designers in making better structures that will stand up to the elements –and there will be various seminars for three days by experts who will tackle a variety of topics: from living stylishly and efficiently in small spaces (by interior design guru Leo Almeria), to proper urban planning that will avert possible disasters (Arch. Felino Palafox, Jr.). Each day from March 18 to 20 will feature four different speakers who will share their expertise —and for those who don’t want to be left behind on current construction trends and concerns, attending each seminar day is priced at a very affordable P2,000.

Advocating that “green” ideal and addressing these modern-day topics with up-to-date talks by knowledgeable resource persons, many of them from different parts of the globe: “High Range Koda Blast System” by Engr. Sipco de Jonge (Netherlands); “Sustainability in Mass Housing” by Arch Timothy Wong (Singapore); “Green Cities-Signatory Project: Zero Energy Building” by Arch. Raffles will be held for expo attendees and visitors, with three winners drawn each day from seminar registrants from March 18-20 and three winning visitors drawn each day from March 17-21.
