Filinvest opens South Station

MANILA, Philippines - South Station, a transport and retail development project of Filinvest Alabang Inc., recently opened to be southern Metro Manila’s biggest inter-modal transport terminal. 

Located within Filinvest Corporate City along Alabang-Zapote Road beside the Muntinlupa Public Market, the terminal and retail center serves as a point of convergence for public utility vehicles plying the roads to and from Metro Manila and the southern provinces. Its strategic location makes South Station accessible via the major road networks connecting Metro Manila and the south – West Service Road, Alabang-Zapote Road, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Old National Highway.

Filinvest Alabang Inc. joined hands with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to provide a safe, efficient and convenient environment for commuters to transfer from one mode of public transportation to another. South Station is a joint development project with the National Resources Development Corporation.

In an area that draws thousands of commuters who take intercity and provincial transportation, traffic congestion and public safety are among the topmost concerns. One such area is Alabang, Muntinlupa, the gateway from Metro Manila and north Luzon to the southern provinces. This town sees a high volume of commuter traffic, public mode transfers, and bus and jeepney trips daily. Thus, it only makes sense that it house a transport hub that can accommodate all modes of public land transportation and provide commuters easy and safe access to a ride to their destination.

“At South Station, the environment is more controlled and traffic management is efficient. It’s accessible. Commuters can take all modes of land transportation – jeepneys, buses, shuttle vans, taxis, tricycles. The place is well-lighted, there are traffic signs and foot paths,” explains Josephine G. Yap, president, Filinvest Alabang Inc.

In the Alabang area alone, South Station provides terminal service for direct transportation or convenient transfer to the thousands of employees living in the residential areas and working in nearby Northgate Cyberzone, other locations in Alabang’s commercial district, or in the business centers of Metro Manila.
