One of the world's greenest places

MANILA, Philippines - In the arena of land development, green is the new gold.

However, it takes grassroots know-how to be successful in this endeavor. One developer that mastered the art of green real estate masterplanning is Ayala Land Premier (ALP). Recently, ALP’s Anvaya Cove, a sprawling residential community in a resort setting in Bataan, made it as finalist in the 2009 Hospitality Design (HD) Awards and is consequently being hailed as one of the greenest and most sustainable residential projects in the world.

“The design and planning of Anvaya Cove followed sustainable principles in order to create an eco-resort like residential development that was within easy reach of Manila,” says senior architect for Anvaya Cove, Manny Illana. “From the onset of this project, the development team agreed that emphasis is needed to be placed on protecting and enhancing the physical attributes and habitats of the site. This meant designing roadways that curved around to avoid mature trees, choosing lighting fixtures that would not disorient pawikans as they came home to Anvaya Cove to nest and creating amenities like the Nature Camp that would be a venue for interacting with nature as well as promoting conservation. ”

Now on its fifth year, the HD Magazine Award is one of the most coveted recognitions in real estate development.
