Fancifully French in South Forbes
MANILA, Philippines - The country’s largest and all-themed golf resort city at the heart of the Metro Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay corridor, South Forbes Golf City, and recipient of the Best Golf Community Development title by the CNBC International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious property awards programme, proudly reveals yet another masterpiece collection at its regal French quarter — Châteaux de Paris.
Along its characteristic French model street is a row of stately homes on a carpet of manicured lawns and vibrant flowers, Chambord and Fontainebleau — two virtually similar homes yet unalike in treatment.
Designing the same house in two extremely opposite styles was a task and challenge Dan Lichauco, principal designer of Archion Architects, eagerly took on and successfully accomplished.
“Our main challenge with this project was to get the grandness of the French style and downsize it to the smaller scale of a house,” Arch. Lichauco said.
Old World Charm. The distinguished Chambord exterior already hints of a palace with a turret on one side of the house, a unique feature that sets the model chateau apart from all others, hinting of romance and aristocracy.
In keeping with the exterior, Arch. Lichauco created the Chambord interiors to bring back the old world charm that is characteristic of many of our parents’ and grandparents’ homes but updated to meet the modern lifestyle. He used glass and porcelain accessories and paintings of landscapes by Van Gogh.
“The Chambord interiors was designed with a hip lola in mind where there is a modern touch to the old — deep colors, layers of textures, but lightly ornate,” said Arch. Lichauco.
Burgundy, a rich color on its own, was accentuated by bright yellows and greens as also seen in the furniture and the art works on the wall — making the room feel sunny and bright. The dining room uses modern Louis XV furniture that is juxtaposed against a rather ornate chandelier.
